  • Oct. 11, 1975

    Bryan Trottier burst onto the scene in his second NHL game, recording five points (3G, 2A) in a 7-0 win over the LA Kings. It was the first of many for Trottier, who had 16 hat tricks and 15 five-point games in his Islanders career.

  • Dec. 23, 1978

    Bryan Trottier sets an NHL record with six points (3G, 3A) in a single period in the Islanders 9-4 rout over the New York Rangers, a record that stood for 42 years. Trottier recorded a career-high eight points (5G, 3A), which is tied for the second-most in NHL history.

  • Jan–Mar 1982

    Bryan Trottier recorded a 25-game point streak from Jan. 21 to Mar. 10, 1982 During that time, Trottier averaged over two points per game, with 55 points (28G, 27A) over that span. No other Islander has ever recorded a 20-game point streak.

  • Mar. 22, 1984

    It only took five seconds for Bryan Trottier to light the lamp against the Boston Bruins on Mar. 22, 1984. The goal tied the still-standing NHL record for fastest goal to start a game.

  • Feb. 13, 1990

    Bryan Trottier scored his 500th NHL goal against the Calgary Flames. Trottier is one of two Islanders to score 500 goals and was the second to do so. The goal was also Trottier’s last as an Islander.
